Wow, things are really moving fast in my life. I will be leaving for Nepal the second week of March! I am going to Kathmandu.
I have been living in D.C. at Ivanwold with 2 guys from Nepal. They are friends with people in the community and have asked me to go to Nepal to serve and love friends and family in Nepal. This isn’t a mission trip; it’s a “relationship trip”. The difference is, I’m not going with an organization, I am not going there to complete a mission or get something done. I’m going to serve and love my two friends from Nepal as well as the people of Nepal.
I’m not going there with an agenda or a checklist. I’m going to serve and love and to let the Holy Spirit guide me the way God wants me to. Going there in this way leaves room for the Holy Spirit to move and work. Giving my time there to God puts no limits on what can happen. If I can learn how to love and serve these guys in Nepal in the Spirit of Jesus, I will learn more about how to love and serve Jesus better. I want to grow in love with Jesus and know how he desires me to love others.
While I am there, I will be working with the two guys from Nepal. They are very committed to helping orphans, the elderly and the needy. Also we are going to help build a community with the guys that live with our friends, so part of my time there will loving those people with my friends.
Also, I need to ask you for mostly for your prayers and financial support. I am going with 2 other guys that I live with and Right now we know it is about $8000.00 for all of us to go and to live in Nepal for 3 months.
